Ervin E. Pulver, 91, of Kearney died Monday, November 25, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Memorial services will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, November 29, 2013 at First Lutheran Church in Kearney with Rev. Eric Lesher officiating. Inurnment will be in the church columbarium. Military rites at the church will be conducted by the Nebraska National Guard, VFW Post 759 and American Legion Post 52 of Kearney. O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home of Kearney is in charge of arrangements.
He was born in Nemaha County, NE on February 20, 1922 to Edward and Frieda (Rogge) Pulver. He grew up in Nemaha County and graduated from Auburn High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. On April 4, 1946, he married Beverly Beckman in Windsor, CO. They lived in Auburn where he and his brother owned and operated a floor covering business. Later they moved to North Platte, then Kearney, where he was a sales representative for various companies.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church where he was active on various committees, including Church Council and Property Committee. He was also a member of VFW Post 759, American Legion Post 52 and the Kearney Elks Club. His hobbies included woodworking, golf, playing cards and watching all types of sports on TV.
Survivors include his wife of Kearney; sons, Alan (Mary Jane) of Sachse, TX, David (Karen) of Rowlett, TX and Tim (Robin) of Lincoln; daughter, Connie Stover of Kearney; sister, Ella Gray of Arizona; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one brother, 5 sisters, one grandson and two sons-in-law.
