Casualty of the Great War, James served with the 5th Bn.The Cameronians (Scottish Rifles)Service No:204274. He was 29 and the son of John and Margaret Anderson, of Carrutherstown, Dalton.
His brother,Private John Anderson, also fell and is remembered on James' grave. He served with the 1st Bn. Auckland Regiment, N.Z.E.F. Service No: 14547. He died 26th March 1918 and, having no known grave, is commemorated on the Grevillers (New Zealand) Memorial-Pas de Calais-France.He left a widow, Mrs. M. E. Millen (formerly Anderson) of Melbourne, Australia.
