Maxine was born December 15, 1928, at Chattanooga, Okla., to the late Mr. Rex Pender and Mrs. Opal Juanita (Wylie) Pender. She departed this life Sunday, September 23, 2012, at her home in Oil City.
Maxine moved to this area at a young age and attended school initially at Wheeler. She later attended school at Rexroat and graduated from high school there in 1948. She and Mr. James Chatham were later united in marriage that same year and made their home in Oil City. They farmed and ranched all their years together living in Oil City. Maxine was a very devoted housewife who never minded working in the fields or with the cattle. She enjoyed people of every kind and was always very active in the surrounding communities. She loved attending all the area garage sales and helped a lot of people in need. She was a member of the Graham Assembly of God Church. James preceded her in death on November 22, 2005.
Also preceding her in death, were her parents; infant brother, Bobby Ray; and brother, Roy.
