Laid back, mellow, "just chillin' with the fellas", could best describe D. J. - a young man full of life, a fun loving personality, living every day to its fullest. D. J. was an inspiration to those who knew him well.
Some might say D. J. was not serious about anything, but he always took care of business. His smile, his laugh could light up anywhere he was. He was a very special person. His family, friends and anyone who came in contact with him, knew he ws kindhearted, generous, loving, sweet and very caring. D. J. had a heart of gold. Words could never describe his loving heart.
D. J.'s favorite words were "Show me Love."
Dwayne Allen Jackson, Jr. was born on
February 3, 1976, to Ervina Verdell Cole and Dwayne Allen Jackson, Sr. He was given the nickname D. J.
At the age of 15, D. J. received Christ into his life in Dallas, Texas.
On December 23, 1994, D. J.'s all too brief life came to an end and he went to join his grandfather, Mitchell C. Jackson who preceded him in death.
D. J. leaves to cherish all of the many memories he has given us: his loving and devoted mother, Ervina Verdell Cole; his six month old son, Dwayne Allen Jackson III; his father, Dwayne Allen Jackson, Sr.; three brothers, Mitchell Jackson, D'Juan Jackson and Anthony Jackson; a sister Valarie Jackson; his grandparents, Olysses and Dorothy Mitchell Armstrong (Tulsa, Oklahoma) and Ervin and Lenora Cole (Bristow, Oklahoma); thirteen aunts, eleven uncles, also great uncles and aunts, a host of cousins, other relatives and friends; and a very special friend, Kelsey D. Hoursey.
D. J. will be missed by us all. But we know he has gone to a much better place.
