Grace married Mahlon Boyd Peele on Sep. 1, 1945 in South Carolina. They lived in Norfolk and Grace worked for the telephone company and Boyd worked on a tugboat. Later they moved back to Hatteras Island and opened Captain Peele's Restaurant. When Boyd passed she worked at the Tower Circle Motel and then at the Frisco Native American Museum where she worked another fifteen years.
Memorial service was held Wednesday, Feb. 26 with Rev. Roger Barnett and Rev. Dwight Burrus officiating.
