JOHNNY BERRY, age 89, passed away Monday, March 20, 2000 in Lexington, Kentucky.

He was born in Monticello, Kentucky on December 20, 1910, the son of Harrison and Vernetta Allen Berry. Both parents preceded him in death.

He married Willie Lee Sloan Berry, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by 7 children Stella Brooks of Louisville, Kentucky, Ted Berry of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Fred Berry of Lexington, Kentucky, John O. Berry of Monticello, Kentucky, Mae Elizabeth Berry and Jacqueline Ratliff II, both of Louisville, Kentucky and Allene Berry of Kansas City, Missouri; 1 sister Laura Barnes of Somerset, Kentucky; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He confessed his life to Christ at an early age at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Monticello, where he also served as deacon for 40 years. He continued to worship God at Bethel Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky and then at First Gethsemane Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 24, 2000 at 11 A.M. in the funeral home with Reverend T. Vaughn Walker, Reverend Eric Barnes and Reverend Larry Wilson officiating. Burial was in Monticello Cemetery.
