Edward V. Morris, a son, born to Calvin T. Morris and Eliza Jane (Gifford) Yates Morris.

He married: Mary Susan Hinshaw on December 17, 1893 in Jackson Co. Al. Mary Susan Hinshaw was the daughter of James N. Hinshaw and Lydia Ann (Prince) Hinshaw.

Their children: Charlie Lee, James Calvin, Nancy Jane "Nannie", Hattie A, Mattie, Floyd Edward, and Hubert Ray.

His siblings: George T, Sarah A, Eliza, Robert J, and Twins: John Warren and William R. Twins: Benjamin and Martha, Andrew Jackson, Charles Monroe, and Nancy (Nannie).

"Ed" was called "Uncle Foot" because of his size 14 shoe. He was about 6 foot 5 inches tall, raw boned, and muscular. He was a mail carrier by way of horseback on a route from Estillfork, Alabama to Huntland, Tennessee. In the winter months, people would have to break his feet loose from the stirrups. His feet froze to his stirrups because when he crossed the river back and forth on his route, the water splashed up onto his feet and froze.

He loved baked sweet potatoes and had a hard time sleeping at night if he knew there was a sweet potato left over from supper.

After Mary Susan died in 1952, he married Emma Hill. Emma is buried in the Bostick Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
