Funeral service for the late Mrs. Fred (Louise) Abraham was held Friday, Sept. 22, 1978, at 1:30 o'clock at Grace American Lutheran Church of Brownton. Pastor Donald Hippe officiated and Elsie Mae Jensen presided at the organ. Hymns sung by the congregation were "O God Our Help In Ages Past" and "Jesus Still Lead On."
Interment was in the cemetery and casket bearers were Donald Klitzke, William Braun, Elmer Alsleben, Gerhard Henke, Herbert Henke and Lester Wendlandt.
Hantge Funeral Chapels, Brownton and Hutchinson, was in charge of arrangements.
Louise (Henke) Abraham was born December 10, 1880 in Dryden Township, Sibley County, near Gaylord to Mr. and Mrs. William Henke. She grew up and received her education in her home area. She was baptized at the Mountville Lutheran Church by Pastor Kretzschmar and confirmed at the same church by Pastor Robert Koehler.
She was united in marriage to Fred Abraham November 5, 1905 at her home church. After their marriage, they farmed in Round Grove Township until 1925. The Abraham family moved to a farm south of Brownton which has been their home up to the present time.
Her husband, Fred, passed away May 5, 1945. She continued to make her home with her two sons until about three weeks ago, when she became a resident of Burns Manor Nursing Home in Hutchinson.
She passed away Monday evening, Sept. 18, at the age of 97-years.
She is survived by her two sons, Harry and Martin Abraham of rural Brownton, other relatives and many friends.
