Obituary

Mrs. Minnie Mason - At Centre Rawdon, March 11 (1941), Mrs. Minnie Mason, widow of Judson Mason, passed away, aged 79 years, after a brief illness. She was a daughter of the late Judson and Rachael Williams of Rawdon Gold Mines. Coming from the U.S. as a bride to the hillside home fifty-one years ago she made many friends who sorrow at her going. A devoted wife and mother, yet in the midst of a busy life, raising her large family, she found time always to extend a helping hand to those in trouble or on sick beds. A faithful member and supporter of the Rawdon Baptist Church she will be much missed as well as in the missionary society in which she took a deep interest. Her step-daughter Clara Mason in India will miss her sympathy and interest in her work. Mrs. Mason was the mother of ten children of whom six survive: Edith, wife of Theodore Foster, Spiers, Sask.; Alice, Mrs Welton McLearn, South Rawdon; George, Stanley; Bessie, Mrs Issac Pineo, Marshfield Hills, Mass.; Howard at home, and Ida, Mrs. Ralph O'Brien, Scotch Village. Also twenty-nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and three step-children, John, Sutherland, Sask., Clara, missionary in India, and Leila, Mrs James B. Blois, South Rawdon. The funeral services were conducted on March 14, conducted by Rev. Frances Dawson. The body was laid to rest in the family lot on the hill top at Rawdon.
