Mr. Cooper, a native of Floyd County, Georgia was born April 20, 1934, son of the late Grady Henry and Maudie Irene McBurnam Cooper. He was a retired farmer. Survivors include brothers, W. L. Cooper/Wife, Virginia Cooper and John Rufus Cooper, Broxton; sister, Bonnie Mae Merritt/Husband, Rev. James Merritt, Broxton; Special friend, Betty Kersey, Nicholls; several nieces and nephews. Sisters Mollie Marie Carter and Emma Elizabeth Benefield preceded him in death.
Graveside services and burial were held 4:00 PM, Thursday, May 5, at the Central Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. James Merritt officiating. Active pallbearers included: William Cooper, James Merritt, Jr., Jackie Tipton, Tim Meeks, Tom Meeks and Darryl Spikes.
Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
