Hazel Blaisure, 94, of Montrose, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at Meadow View Senior Living Center. She was born in Bridgewater Twp., Pa., to the late Elmer and Inez (Lewis) Brobst. Surviving are her two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Norman Reynolds, Montrose, Pa., Beverly and George Welch, Montrose, Pa.; daughter-in-law, Barbara Newton, Fla.; six grandchildren and their spouses, Jackie and Bryan Giddens, Gwen and Kenneth Mead, Timmy and Bonnie Reynolds, Jody Reynolds, Shawnae Bomboy and companion, Eddy Lawrence, Shennen and Willie Bennett; former son-in-law and his spouse, Pete and Carol Bomboy; four great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Hazel was predeceased by her 1st husband, Lewis Newton Sr.; second husband, Kenneth E. Blaisure; son, Lewis Newton, Jr.; grandson, Ronnie Newton. She worked for 30 some years at Banner Slipper manufacturing in South Montrose. She had an extensive cardinal collection, and enjoyed music, playing cards, baking pies and cookies, and her flower garden. Her home, family, and grandchildren were her life.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home. Interment will be in the South Montrose Cemetery. Visitations will be an hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions in Hazel's memory can be made to the Susquehanna County Library, 2 Monument Square, Montrose, Pa.
