She is survived by her husband, Charles; and five children, daughters Devetta Silver, Wanda Callahan (Clay), Paulette Williamson (Terry), Barbara Silver; and son, Barry Black (Petrola); also four step-children Carolyn, Beverly, James, Jr. and Anthony. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren.
Gladys was the youngest of seven children and is survived by two sisters, Ella Hamer of Whispering Pines and Yvonne Beatty of Greensboro and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 18, 2011 at 11a.m.; viewing at 10:30 a.m. at Word of Life - PCCG, located at 4004 Perth Place, Greensboro.
