Clarence E. Aldis of Cortland Dies
Clarence Eugene Aldis highly respected life long resident of the Cortland community, died early Wednesday morning at his home. He had been seriously ill for over a year.
Mr. Aldis was born in Cortland December 10, 1876, one of 11 children born to Robert and Elizabeth Aldis. His parents, five brothers and one sister have predeceased him. He engaged in farming for 32 years, being forced to retire six years ago, because of ill health.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife; and three sisters, Maude Seymour of Waukegan, Mae Iverson of DeKalb and Violet Strack of Genoa.
Funeral services are to be held on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Ronan Mortuary in DeKalb with the Rev. Robert Cochran, pastor of the Cortland Methodist church in charge. Interment will take place in the cemetery at Cortland.
