The Sherman (Texas)Patriot of late date, notices the death of R. M. Jones, of the Choctaw Nation. Mr. Jones was a half-breed, and succeeded in accumulating a very large fortune by trading in the Nation and by farming. The Patriot estimates that his estate is worth over a million dollars. Before the war he was a large slave holder, and at one time worked, we believe, four large cotton plantations on Upper Red River.
