Mr. Jesse Lee Hayes Jr., 46, of Helmsman Drive, Supply, died Monday, July 24, 2006, at Dosher Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2006, at Gospel Center Baptist Church in Varnumtown.
Mr. Hayes was born June 8, 1960, in Wilmington, NC, son of Fay Kelly Hayes and the late Jesse L. Hayes Sr. Mr. Hayes graduated from UNCW in 1983 where he earned a BA degree in Education. He was a loving and wonderful father and husband and will be missed by all of his friends. He was known and loved by many who knew him from the family business, ?Capt?n Pete?s Seafood.? Jesse attended Gospel Center Baptist Church where he will be missed by his church family.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Opal Hayes of the home; his daughter, Kerrie Leigh Hayes; his mother Fay Kelly; sisters, Kelly Wolfe of Castle Hayne and Carol Ann Floyd and husband Vern of Leland; a nephew, Kaden Floyd. Mr. Hayes was preceded in death by his father, Jesse L. Hayes Sr. and his infant daughter, Kristie Ellen Hayes.
