James D fought in the BlackHawk war in Illinois and then served in the Arkansas Militia in 1836 along the Texas border. He mustered out at Ft Smith. He went to California for gold but returned when he heard that his father had died in Jan 1850. He married Carolyn Green and had two sons. William Green and James Martin Harvey Anglin were named for their Green relatives and were raised by William Green and his wife Ruth A Loyd. He has an unmarked grave and family stories say he is buried here.
