HENRY BECKER DIES TUESDAY
Rites at St. Helena Friday Morning
ST. HELENA -- Henry Becker, sr., 78, died Tuesday at Sacred Heart hospital eight days after he was injured in a truck accident. He had sustained a double fracture of the pelvis when a truck backed into him while he was cleaning up corn from in back of the vehicle at his farm home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday from Immaculate Conception church at St. Helena, with Rev. Ernest Halemira officiating. Burial will be made in the parish cemetery under the direction of Wintz Mortuary.
Henry, son of Mathias and Barbara Becker, was born at St. Helena August 25, 1872, and he spent his entire life in this community.
He was married to Mary Temme at Stuart November 10, 1908. They made their home in this community during the ensuing years.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception church and of the Holy Name Society.
He is survived by his wife Mary; three sons, Henry, jr. and Julius of St. Helena and Alphonse of Bloomfield; two daughters, Mrs. Gerhardt Heine of St. Helena and Miss Leona of St. Helena; two brothers, Peter and John of Fordyce and a sister, Mrs. Louis Hoesing of Yankton. A daughter, Mary, preceded him in death.
