William E. "Bill" Capps, 82, of Princeton, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at 7:25 a.m. at his home, following a short illness.
Born May 18, 1930, in Caldwell County, a son of the late John Leslie "Johnnie" and Verdie Oates Capps, he was a Korean Navy veteran and retired factory welder.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Milton Capps.
Survivors include a son, Randy Capps and Nancy Lind of Hopkinsville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and Leslie Joyce of Princeton and Linda and Rick Morgan of Caldwell County; six grandchildren, Aaron Joyce and wife Marcia, Wesley Oliver, Rebecca Joyce, Micah Aikins, Brandi Capps and Justin Capps; two great-grandchildren, Morgan Paige Aikins and Camden Pax Aikins; a special friend, Marie Young of Princeton; a brother, John Lewis Capps of Hebron, Ind.; three sisters, Mary Cartwright and Rosetta Littlefield, both of Caldwell County, and Janetta Mayes of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, June 15, at 1 p.m. at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Leslie Joyce officiating.
Burial followed in Liberty Church Cemetery in Caldwell County.
Pallbearers were grandchildren, Aaron Joyce, Wes Oliver, Justin Capps, Rebecca Joyce, Micah Aikins and Brandi Capps.
Honorary bearers were Larry Young, Tony Young, Bruce Young, Jerry Henry and George Pickering.
