LANGLEY, S. C., May 21 - Funeral services for Alonzo C. Boyd, 83, of Langley, who died this morning at the Aiken County Hospital, will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. from Talatha Baptist Church.
The Rev. C. M. McCaghren, assisted by the Rev. J. M. Hammond, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
A native of the Talatha section of Aiken County, Mr. Boyd had lived at Langley for the last 12 years. He died after an extended illness.
Son of the late Everett and Jane Calvin Boyd, he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ella Byrd Boyd; four daughters, Mrs. Bernice Riley and Miss Eula Mae Boyd, Aiken; Mrs. Lila Lowe, Talatha, and Mrs. Ethel Rankins, Graniteville; four sons, E. H., Everett and Alonzo, Jr., Langley, and James Boyd Herlong, Calif.; 29 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be D. W. Eargle, M. V. Ferguson, Harold DuBose, Harvey McElhaney, Farrell Ivey and Ralph Johnson.
