OBITUARY Bernadine Anna Ehnes was born in Eden Valley, Minnesota on April 3, 1908 to August and Anna (Brick) Hukriede. She was united in marriage with Arthur Ehnes in Eagle Bend on April 15, 1931. Bernadine spent her earlier years as a farm wife and homemaker. She was a daycare provider later for many years. She has lived in the Eagle Bend area he entire lifetime and served her community as a member of the Immanuel Ladies Aid and Lutheran Women's Missionary League. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, gardening and canning. Bernadine moved to the Central Todd County Care Center in 1999. She passed away there on Sunday, December 19, 2004. Bernadine was preceded in death by husband Arthur on October 12, 1974; parents August and Anna Hukriede; grandson Jason Ehnes; sister Mayme Ehnes; and brothers Jennings Hukriede, Leonard Hukriede, Raymond Hukriede and Bernard Hukriede. She is survived by her sons LuVerne (Elda) of Westminster, CO, Duane (Barbara) of Sauk Centre, MN, LeRoy (Carolyn) of Blaine, MN and Delbert (Joyce) of Clarissa, MN; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 23, 2004 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Bend with Reverend Walter Brill presiding. Honorary pallbearers were Paul Schneider, Earl Mittag, Alfred Schroeder and Elmer Radueg. Pallbearers were Lance and Emily Ehnes, Scott Ehnes, Tom and Vicki Shurson, Dale Ehnes, Dean Ehnes, Josh Ehnes, Greg Ehnes and Debbie Houp. Interment was in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Eagle Bend.
