Brandon Timothy Gackle, 16, Elko, Nev., died May 18, 2006. Services were held May 24 at Faith Lutheran Church, Elko. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, at Ahola Cemetery, seven miles south of Wing.

Brandon Timothy Gackle was born March 19, 1990, in Brigham City, Utah, the son of Steve and Rhonda (Koski) Gackle. He was baptized at Holy Cross Lutheran on April 29, 1990. The family moved to Las Vegas, then made two stops in California, first in Victorville, then Rancho Cucamonga, where he attended Grace Lutheran Preschool. The family eventually settled in Spring Creek, Nev., where Brandon spent the rest of his education in public school, from kindergarten through his sophomore year. He was confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church on May 31, 2004.

Brandon was a very articulate individual, who prided himself on his power of knowledge, an individual who made every move count in his life. His constructive nature brought him the greatest of joys; he enjoyed building Lego structures, model planes and cars, K'Nex innovations and investigating the inner workings of machines. He was also a Cub Scout, and made it all the way to Boy Scouts when he finished as Second Class.

Before entering high school, he developed an appreciation of American History when he made a trip to our nation's capital. He also had made a very special friend in Ebony, the family's miniature schnauzer before his trip.

Brandon is survived by his parents, Steve and Rhonda, Elko; his brother, Bennett, Elko; his grandmothers, Della Koski and Ruby Gackle; his aunts and uncles, Roger and Christy Koski, Richard and Arliss Koski, Gerald and Arlene Gackle, Earl and Sylvia Gackle, George and Elaine Olson, Keith and Carol Gackle, and Gerard and Joyce Gerlach; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Elmer Koski and Ervin Gackle.
