Franklin- Lizzie Mae Turner “Nannie” Billups, 89, passed away May 22, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a lifelong resident of Southampton County and a daughter of the late Livy and Irene Turner. She was predeceased by her husband, William Arthur Billups, a daughter, Christine Lanier and two sisters, Lillie Bradshaw and Hattie Turner and a brother, Edgar Turner.
Left to cherish her memory is a daughter, Shirley Billups, a son, Milton Billups and wife Carol, son-in-law, Robin Lanier, her two granddaughters and her pride and joy, Chrystal and Kimberly Lanier, two brothers-in-law, Frank Billups (Ginger) and Earl Billups (Betty), one sister-in-law, Virginia Rawls and many nieces and nephews, cousins and good friends and two wonderful caregivers, Jackie and Ruthie.
A funeral service will be held at 2PM Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Kitts officiating. The burial will be at Black Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
