Dorothy Lucille Baird, 76, died Wednesday, February 12, 1997 at her home. Arrangements were with Petterson Funeral Home of Red Lake Falls.

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 15 at St. John Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls with Rev. Curtis Brooks officiating. Burial was in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Wylie.

Casketbearers were Bob, Mike and Chuck Baird, Dale and David Armstrong, and Sam Potucek.

Dorothy Lucille Gunderson was born on July 18, 1920 in Detroit Lakes, the daughter of the late John and Ella (Schonteich) Gunderson. She was raised in the Detroit Lakes area and graduated from high school in 1939. Dorothy moved to Fargo, ND where she worked in various places. She was united in marriage to Felix Baird on January 12, 1944 in Inglewood, CA. The couple moved to St. Hilaire where they farmed, then in 1952 they moved to a farm near Red Lake Falls, and in 1957 they moved to Crookston where they resided for 24 and one-half years. Felix retired in 1978 and they returned to Red Lake Falls where they resided since. Felix died April 10, 1986.

Dorothy was a member of the St. John Lutheran church and the Ladies Aid.

She is survived by daughter Mary Jane (David) Schimpf of S. St. Paul; sons Jim (Marlene) of Red Lake Falls, Rick of Red Lake Falls, and Ron (Nancy) of Red Lake Falls; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by husband Felix; and parents.
