Funeral services for Marie Altum 70, of Belton, will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Margaret Clemings officiating.

Mrs. Altum died Monday, February 13, 2012, in a Temple Hospital.

Mrs. Altum was born January 9, 1942 in Smiley, the daughter of James Owen Yates and Stella Ruth (Law) Yates. She married Billy Clyde House in 1962 in Laredo, Mexico. He preceded her in death in 1972. She worked for Scott & White Hospital for 27 years before retiring in 2004. She was the first person at Scott & White to receive Employee of the Year.

Mrs. Altum is survived by two daughters LaFonda Collins of Belton and Tanya Nix of Belton; five brothers Archie Yates of Baytown, Ronnie Yates of Baytown, Shannon Yates, Stanley Yates and Randy Yates all of Houston. Six grandchildren, Dustin, Terra, Tatum, Presley, Dillan and Laynee; two great grandchildren Madisyn and Storie.

The family will receive friends for visitation Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home.
