In Memoriam
Edgar E. Emerson
The beginning of 1922 was greatly saddened on *January 6th by the death of our father, Edgar E. Emerson, of Coke, in his 74th year of age.
He is survived by a widow, who was Miss Alice Dutton; five children: Mrs. Frank Oliver and Mrs. John Nye, of Gloucester; Mrs. Walter Marchant, of Portsmouth, Va.; Zack Emerson, of New York; Roderick Emerson, of Baltimore; also by two brothers, Willie and George Emerson, of Gloucester, and nine grandchildren.
The interment took place of Saturday, January 8th, at Beech Grove Church. The pastor, Rev. H. L. Corr, with his usual impressive manner, officiated the (proceedings).
You are not forgotten, father dear,
Nor will you ever be,
For long as life and memory last
We will remember thee.
Angels of God that guard us
Descended from heaven above,
Took from our midst our father
Who we so treasured and loved.
Oh, may we meet in heaven,
Where loved ones no more weep,
For those who die trusting in Jesus
Their death is only sleep.
~ By his children,
Roderick and Fannie
