Melvin D. Keezer was born Nov. 26, 1938, in White Earth Township, Becker County, Minn., the son of William and Rose (Armstrong) Keezer. He grew up in Elbow Lake Village, rural Waubun, served with the Navy during World War II and attended Detroit Lakes (Minn.) Vocational Technical College. He was a carpenter for the White Earth Tribal Council and a security guard at Shooting Star Casino, Mahnomen, Minn. He married Lorraine Hubley Jan. 6, 1964, in Detroit Lakes.
She survives with sons, Melvin Jr., and Kenneth, both of rural Waubun, David, White Earth; daughters, Paula (Mrs. Mark) Smith and Wanda (Mrs. Art) Bevins, both of White Earth, Pauline Keezer, Rose Fairbanks and Bernice (Mrs. Dean) Bellanger, all of Waubun; 40 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Freida (Mrs. Alvin) LaGue, Waubun; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five sisters and five brothers.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday in Elbow Lake Lutheran Church, rural Waubun.
Visitation: 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, with a 7 p.m. prayer services, and one hour before services in the church. Members of White Earth American Legion Post 425 will conduct military honors.
Burial: Vernon Anderson Memorial Cemetery, rural Waubun (Mattson, Mahnomen, Minn.).
