Newalla resident Dorothy V. Fry, 76, passed away Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, in Midwest City.
On Oct. 29, 1931, she was born to Otto and Carrie (Parin) Sexton in Seminole.
She was raised in Seminole and then lived in San Diego and New York City. After returning to Oklahoma, she lived in Altus several years before moving to the Pink-Tecumseh area in 1975.
She was a 1949 graduate of Seminole High School. In the 1970's, she attended Rose State College, where she pursued an Associates Degree in Psychology.
On July 20, 1967, she married John Fry in Okemah.
She was the head of the Minute Man Program for the Washington, D.C. National Guard and later retired from Tinker Air Force Base. She was a member of the Shawnee Tractor and Engine Club; the Oklahoma Steam Threshers; Toastmasters at Tinker, and Broadway United Methodist Church. She enjoyed watching her grandsons play sports, as well as enjoying all her grandchildren, and her friends that she has made in the tractor clubs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jacob Miller; one brother, Bernard Sexton; one grandchild, Debby Miller; and one step son, Conrad Fry.
Survivors include her husband, John Fry of the home; three sons and three daughters-in-law, Richard Fry, Daniel and Donna Fry of Milwauke, Wis., Shane and Vivian Fry of McLoud and Mary Bauer of Midwest City; grandchildren and their spouses, Sheryl Robertson of Mildenhall, England, Heather Miller of Sayer, Okla., Shane and Brandy Fry of Norman, John Fry of Noble and Timothy and Sharon Fry of Moore and five great-grandchildren.
Service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Will Bentley and the Rev. Tracy Schumpert officiating. Burial will be at Seminole Cemetery.
