Last rites for Charles E. Atkinson, 84, were conducted in the Kerr Chapel
June 5th with interment in the Lake City cemetery. Atkinson was born in
London, England in 1881 and was the only one of a large family who came to
the U S and became a citizen. He was a former resident of Surprise Valley.
Survivors include his wife, Lena Atkinson, two daughters, Mrs. Aileen Kennedy
of Alturas and Mrs. Mary Dee of San Francisco: two sons, Ray of Sweet Home,
Oregon, and William of Corning; ten grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren,
and on brother, Henry, of London also survives.
