Ramon was survived by his daughters: Beverly Jaramillo (husband Abdon), Jennifer Gallegos (husband Ernesto), DeAnn Meadows (husband Jacob); daughter-in-law Deliliah Baldonado; mother of his children, Martha Gonzales; siblings: Adela Martinez (husband Alvaro), Lonisio Vialpando (wife Martha), Richard Vialpando (wife Elvia), Virginia Vialpando (companion Greg), Becky Lovato, Ramona Raya (husband Jose Luis), and Lorraine Sanchez (husband Francisco); sister-in-law Juanita Vialpando; close cousin/brother, Gil Serrano; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Ramon enjoyed going to Chama Days, hunting, fishing and cheering on his grandchildren playing sports. He also enjoyed watching the UNM Lobos and Denver Broncos.
Public visitation and Rosary were on 10 April 2014 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian burial was on 11 April 2014 at the San Miguel Catholic Church in Cañones. Burial followed in the Cañones Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers: Noel Vialpando, Adrian Raya, J.D. Vialpando, Roy Martinez, Nolan Sanchez and Angelo Lopez. Honorary pallbearers: Toby, Christian, Mia, Cruz and Aramis.
