Charles Edward Blackburn of Roaring River passed away October 8, 2009 at Sunbridge Care in Rehab of Alleghany.
He was born in Wilkes County on November 26, 1936 to the late Theodore Blackburn and Eva Wood Blackburn.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Billy Ray Blackburn.
He is survived by his wife, Lessie Hawkins Blackburn of the home; a son, Darrell Wayne Blackburn of Traphill; a daughter, Teresa Blackburn Prevette and husband Jimmy of Ronda; a brother, John Wilbar (Carol) Blackburn of North Wilkesboro.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Johnson Funeral Home from 1:00 - 2:00 pm.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Bethany Ford Baptist Church in North Wilkesboro.
