Celine Kahn (1946 - 2013)
Dec 9, 1946 - Jan 31, 2013
Resident of Dublin, CA
Celine Ann Kahn passed away on January 31, 2013, at her home in Dublin surrounded by her extended family. Celine grew up in Saint Elizabeth's Parish in Oakland, where she attended primary and high school. In the early 1970s, her adventurous spirit took her to Europe, where she lived and worked for a year. She enjoyed travel and embarked on the adventure of her life with her future husband, Zev, as they trekked around the globe.
She married in 1976 and settled in Dublin, where she raised a family. Celine loved music, theater, and the visual arts, encouraging creativity in her children. She was a dedicated homemaker, mother, and grandmother extraordinaire, costume sewer, diorama builder, and Christmas feast hostess par excellence.
Celine was diagnosed with cancer in October 2011 and fought courageously over the next 15 months. Throughout her life she remained committed to her family, friends, and Catholic faith.
Celine is survived by her husband, Zev, and their three children, Jordan, Johanna, and Shelley; siblings Barbara, Tom, Theresa, Marian, and Michael; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Mary Smith.
Funeral liturgy held at St. Raymond Church in Dublin at 10:00 AM, Monday, February 4.
