Grady was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church. He attended Texas A&M. Grady served 26 years in the US Army and retired as a colonel, while serving he received several awards and decorations, which included the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with three Oak Clusters, the Army Commendation Medal, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry and the Combat Infantry Badge. Grady held the position of Full Colonel with The United States Army Air Defense Division. In addition to Grady's distinguished military career he was also an outstanding family man and committed to his church family. He was very strong in his conviction for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
