DANVILLE - Kenneth Gerald Adkins, Sr., 68, formerly of Danville died January 2, 2009 in Danville Regional Medical Center. Born September 24, 1940 in Franklin County, VA, he was the son of the late Eddie D. Adkins and the late Elsie Lucille Doss Adkins. He was employed by Union 76 on Arnett Blvd, Adkins Auto Service at Whitmell, Brosville Texaco and Five Points Gulf as a mechanic.. He was a member of Westover Baptist Church. He is survived by his former wife, Joyce McBride.
He is survived by his daughters, Tammy A. Worsham and Tracy A. Ray; two sons, Kenneth G. Adkins, Jr. and David K. Adkins; a sister, Judy Walker. In addition, he is survived by 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Carol A. Hall, and two brothers, Eddie D. Adkins and Dale Adkins.
Interment will be in the Doss family cemetery in Museville.
