dated February 3, 1911:
DEATH OF WM. BECK
William Beck who had been a
resident of Mercersburg for over 50
years died at 8 o'clock on Thursday
evening of last week, Jan. 26. Mr.
Beck was born in the Little Cove in
1827 and after coming to Mercers-
burg followed brick making. He
would go from place to place burn-
ing a kiln of bricks for parties who
wished to build a house or a barn.
He was married three times and is
survived by his wife whose maiden
name was Malinda D. Auman and
to whom he was married Sept. 4,
1886. He is also survived by 4
children, 32 grandchildren and 40
great-grand children. Funeral ser-
vices were conducted on Sabbath
afternoon by Rev. Boyer of the M.
E. Church. Interment to the Meth-
odist graveyard near town.
