Jay passed away while undergoing an operation at Penn Yan hospital. "The death of Jay Bailey, aged 49 years, occurred at the Memorial Hospital in the village Wednesday noon. He is survived by his wife; mother, Mrs. Jennie Bailey, one son, Harlow, and one daughter, Laura all of Penn Yan. The funeral services will consist of a prayer service at the late residence on Water street at noon on Saturday, and from the Altay church at 2:30 Saturday afternoon.
