YORK Jacob A. Berkheimer, Jr., 79, died 4:30 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2007 at his home. He was the loving husband of Lottie M. (Eisenhower) Berkheimer. The couple celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary July 14, 2007. He was born October 20, 1928 in East Manchester Township, a son of the late Jacob A. and Annie M. (Miller) Berkheimer. Jacob retired in April of 1991 following 27 years of service as a laser process operator for Harley Davidson, York. He was a member of Dover Bethany U.M. Church; AARP; I.A.M. York Local #175; and Hawks Gunning Club. In addition to his wife, Jacob is survived by a son, Jacob A. Berkheimer III of Shiloh; three daughters, Nancy J. Platts and Vicki A. Kehr, both of Dover and Carla M. Green of East Berlin; a step-daughter, Joan E. Myers Goodman of Philadelphia; seven grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; a brother, Ralph F. Berkheimer of Dover; and two sisters, Arlene Stare and Ruthanna L. Laird, both of York. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Kenneth E. Berkheimer, Roy E. Berkheimer, Curt Miller, and Richard Berkheimer. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral 2 p.m. Friday, at Dover Bethany U.M. Church, 4510 Bull Rd., Dover and the viewings from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover and from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will follow in Dover Bethany Cemetery. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. Brad Gilbert.
