The following information is from contributor Liam McAlister.

Enlisted on November 9th 1862 for 3 years, aged 38.
Pvt Lovett was assigned to Co C 10th Massachusetts Infantry. According to Pvt Lovett's records (FOLD3) he was discharged in November 1863 to be allowed re-enlist as a veteran, which he did on December 21st of that year.
In June 1864, Pvt Lovett was transferred to 37th Massachusetts Infantry and was serving with this regiment when he was killed in action at Fort Stevens on July 12th 1864.
