Jean M. Hunt age 68 of Zumbrota died on Monday morning, December 7, 2009 at the Zumbrota Health Services.

The memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Friday, December 11, 2009 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota with Reverend Richard Hegal officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 PM on Thursday December 10 and one hour before the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in the spring at County Line Cemetery in rural Pine Island.

Jean Marie Benson was born on September 13, 1941 in Red Wing to Clifford and Lenora (Jensen) Benson. Jean was baptized and confirmed at the Pine Island United Methodist Church. She grew up in rural Pine Island and attended country school. She graduated from Pine Island High School in 1959. Jean and Ronald Hunt were married on October 22, 1960 at the Pine Island United Methodist Church. They lived in the Zumbrota and Pine Island areas until moving to Grand Rapids in 1970. In 1974 they returned to Zumbrota and purchased their farm. Jean raised their children and worked with Ron on the farm. She later enjoyed working at Decora Cabinets in Zumbrota and the Zumbrota Post Office until she retired in 2006. She loved watching her children in sports and later her grandchildren. She loved having the kids visit the farm and enjoyed attending to the many animals she made sure to have. Later in life she found a passion for crafting and spent many days painting and selling her crafts. Her greatest passion was truly her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by the many lives she touched.

Jean is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Ron of Zumbrota; 2 daughters, Roxanne (Marty) Hill and Robin (Tony) Buck all of Kenyon; son, Randy Hunt of Zumbrota; daughter-in-law, Molly Hunt of Zumbrota; 6 grandchildren, Kyle and Kasandra Hill, Alissa Hester, Madison Buck, Freedom and Siddha Hunt; 3 brothers, Jim (Char) Benson of Champlin, Gary (Shelly) Benson of Fort Collins, CO, and Lee (Gloria) Benson of Yakutat, AK; 2 sisters-in-law, JoAnn Boyle of Hermiston, OR and Sue Benson of Grand Canyon, AZ; step-mother, Janette Benson; step-sisters, Virgina Carr of Mankato, Barb Schafer of Rochester, Deb (Paul) Tenis of Rochester, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and an aunt Arlene Benson, brother and sister-in-laws and many caring and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Lenora.

Honorary bearers are her grandchildren.
