Born in the town of Dingras, Pelagio was one of the Sakada's to migrate to Kauai in 1946 on the SS Maunawili. He retired as a truck driver with Hawaii Sugar Planters Association. He was predeceased by his parents Vernancio and Eusebia, his brothers Macario and Alfredo, and his sisters Maximina and Avelina. Survived by his wife Priscilla, his daughters Diane and Norma, his son Jeffrey, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, his brother Faustino, and other extended family members.
