MOCKSVILLE - Odessa Knight Wood Branson, 88, Meadowbrook Terrace of Davie, died Thursday (March 30, 2000) at the nursing center.
Born Jan. 12, 1912, in Rockingham, Mrs. Branson was a daughter of the late Oscar Knight and Nona Vaughn Knight Plott. She had retired in 1979 as a certified nursing assistant at N.C. Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem. She was a member of Green Meadows Baptist Church.
Her first husband, Leonard S. Wood, died in 1963, and her second husband, Harvey L. Branson, died in 1976.
Survivors include son Robert E. Wood, Charlotte; daughter Mrs. John (Linda W.) Seats, Farmington; sister Mary Alexander, Canton; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services: 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Green Meadows Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. M. Ray Davis and the Rev. Kenneth Hyde. Burial, church cemetery.
Visitation: At the church after the service.
