Willard was born 2 Dec 1898, at Lewisville, Jefferson, Idaho, to William Joseph Newton Adams and Anna Jane Gilchrist Adams.
He attended school in his early years at Market Lake, now Roberts, and at Rigby from age 10 through High School.
He married Arberella Irene Mikesell 18 Dec 1915, at Rigby. The marraige later was solemnized in the Logan, Utah, LDS Temple.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints.
He was Rigby Postmaster, city councilman and civic leader.
He had been Rigby volunteer fire chief and chairman of the Red Cross. He was a historical writer and a lecturer on Indians of Southwest, and was active in the Boy Scouts of America.
He had been president of the Rigby Lions Club and was a major in the National Guard.
He authored the book, "100 Years of Jefferson County."
Willard died 2 Mar 1988, at Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Idaho Falls, Bonneville, Idaho.
He is survived by four sons, Willard Newton Adams and Richard N. Adams both of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Joseph Niel Adams of Bowie, Maryland, and Allen Willard Graves of Morgan, Utah; a sister Mabel Adams Sorensen of Ogden, Utah.
Funeral services were held at the Rigby East Stake Center and he is buried in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery, Rigby, Jefferson, Idaho.
