Blaine Allen Axtell, age 76, passed away January 21, 2011. A memorial service will begin at 11 am Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the What Cheer Baptist Church.

He was born on April 22, 1934 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the son of the late Erwin Ogle and Hazel Blanche Axtell. Blaine was a graduate of Deep River High School class of 51, attended the University of Iowa amd graduate of AIB College of Business. He served in the U.S.Army and retired from J.I. Case Company after 24 years of service. Blaine was an avid fan of the St.Louis Cardinals and a tractor aficionado. He enjoyed spending time with his family, children and grand children. He also enjoyed bird watching, movies, ice cream, circus peanuts, playing the piano, singing, fishing and amusement park rides(roller coasters). Blaine married Lillian Ann Green, May 31, 1957 and they celebrated 53 years together.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Lillian Axtell of What Cheer, Iowa; son, Brian and wife Sheri Axtell of Pearland, Texas; son, Bruce and wife Tammy Axtell of Nacogdoches, Texas; daughter Lynn and husband Steve Jones of Spring Tesas, granddaughters Tiffany Miller, Vanessa Axtell, Briana Actell, and Zoe Jones, and grandsons David and wife Laurel Collins, Derrick Axtell and Jesse Jones. Also surviving are brother Charlie and wife Jean Axtell, and sister Marca and husband Chris Moode as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
