Phyllis Ann Briney (1928-2011)

Phyllis Ann Briney, 83, Perkinston, Miss., formerly of Logansport, passed away at 4:10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011 in her residence.

Born in Monon, on July 4, 1928, Phyllis was the daughter of James E. and Mary T. (McCormick) Blackburn. She was married on July 26, 1947, in St. Joseph's Church in Reynolds, to Robert M. Briney, who survives in Perkinston.

Phyllis had been employed at T.M. Morris and RBM in Logansport. While living in Logansport, she was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, All Saints Ladies Society, Infant Jesus of Prague Study Club and the Daughters of Isabella. She was a member of St. Matthew The Apostle Catholic Church near Perkinston.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons, James A. (Kathy) Briney, Bayville, N.J., Thomas D. (Becky) Briney, Perkinston, Miss. and Timothy P. (Kim) Briney, Temekula, Calif.; daughters, Patricia A. (Terry) Morgan, New Waverly, Roberta A. Briney, Perkinston, Miss., Theresa A. (Eugene) Wulsin, Cincinnati, Ohio, Melissa A. (John) James, D'Iberville, Miss. and Katrina A. (Chris) Helm, Port Magoo, Calif.; sister, Mary A. Goble, Monon; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Preceding her in death were brothers, John Blackburn and Louis Blackburn; and sister, Katherine Criswell.

Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m., Thursday, at Kroeger Funeral Home, Logansport, where the Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Friday, at All Saints Catholic Church with Fr. Mike McKinney officiating.

Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Catholic Church.
