Barbara Jean Burleson “BB”, age 67, of Nebo, passed away February 11, 2016 at Hospice of Rutherford County.
Barbara was born in Jackson County, NC on September 2, 1948 and was the daughter of Pearl Milsap Wood of Nebo and the late Lecil Wood.
She was a long-time dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Nebo where she was also a choir member. She enjoyed cooking with her friends for many large functions at church. Barbara enjoyed traveling with her husband and church groups. She was fun to be around and will certainly be missed by her family and church friends.
Left to cherish Barbara’s memory are her husband of 48 years, Charles Burleson, of the home; her mother, Pearl Wood of Nebo; two daughters, Leslie Burleson of Greensboro and Teresa Collins of Marion; son, Brandon Burleson and wife Bobbi of Nebo; six grandchildren: Layden Burleson, Kameron Burleson, Bradley Henderson, Dylan Henderson, all of Nebo, Robbie Collins of Marion and Khloe Lyons of Manning, SC; special grandchildren, Ashton Helton and Ayden Helton, both of Marion; six special sisters: Debbie Jaynes, Shirley Childers, Patsy Hicks, Betty Troutman, Judy Byrd and Mott Buff, all of Nebo.
A funeral service will be held Monday, February 15, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Nebo at 3:00 pm. Interment will follow the service at the First Baptist Church of Nebo Cemetery.
