Venzell Roger Banks, St. Charles

Services for Venzell Roger Banks, 65, St. Charles, who died Sept. 30 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital, were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the St. Charles Parish Church with the Rev. Chet Waterman officiating. Burial was at the Blair Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. Banks was born Oct. 18, 1916 at Maynard, Minn., the son of Parley and Rosetta Stone Banks. He attended schools in Minnesota and Iowa and married Mabel Wignall March 8, 1938 in Des Moines. The couple had three children.

Mr. Banks spent most of his life farming and in the drilling of wells. He was a member of the Model Lodge 315 of the Masons. Surviving are his wife; sons, Roger and wife Charlotte and Jerry and wife Marsha, all of St. Charles; a daughter, Janette Pickar and husband David of Winterset; six grandchildren; sisters, Vera Berg of Winterset, Irene Durbalea of Peoria, Ill., Betty Damerville and Dorothy Estey, both of Des Moines, and Agnes Ordahl of St. Charles; and a brother, Wayne of Kenosha, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
