They were the parents of two daughters, Judith and Margaret Kathryn.} "Kathryn Jessie (McArdle) Conrad passed away Dec 6, 1998 at Puyallup. She was 84. Born in Quilcene on May 30, 1914, Kathryn went on to graduate from the University of Washington in 1941. She was involved in a variety of clubs serving as former president of UW Faculty Wives, former president of DA PEO Chapter (Seattle) and GI PEO Chapter (Poulsbo), and she was a current member of AN PEO Chapter (Puyallup). Mrs Conrad often sang and was a principal soloist in the choir of Carl Pitzer at the University Christian Church for many years. She is survived by her loving family, including two daughters, Judith and husband Chuck Hinkle of Bainbridge Island, and Kathryn and husband Bob Spence of Puyallup; grandchildren Carolyn and Dean Scharer, Carl Spence, Rebecca Spence, Megan Kenney, and Brian Hinkle; one great granddaughter, Caitlin Schearer; and one brother, Willard McArdle. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ernest M Conrad, who was born in Egypt and graduated from Davenport High School.
