Published in The Paducah Sun (McCracken Co., KY), Fri., 29 Jan 1954 - KEVIL, Ky., Jan 28 - Funeral services for Jim Apperson, 58, who died Wednesday at his home on Kevil Rt. 1 will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Bethel Christian Church with the Rev. Henry Beasley officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.
He was a member of Bethel Christian Church, American Legion Post No 3 in Ballard and a veteran of World War I.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Shelby Apperson; six daughters, Mrs. Gordon Bongent of La Center, Miss Angie Apperson of Kevil; Mrs. Herman Ward, Mrs. William Purvis, Mrs. Eugene Sills and Mrs. Don Moore, all of Paducah; a son, James Apperson of Kevil Rt. 4; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Glover of Rt. 4 and Mrs. Elizabeth of Kevil Rt. 1; two brothers, William Apperson of Kevil Rt. 4 and Leslie Apperson of Deroit Mich.; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Members of the Ballard American Legion No. 3 will serve as pallbearers.
