Jessie Lee Davis, 92 of Willowick, OH passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel by Elders Glen Pennix, Flem Arrowood, Glen Arrowood and Roger Dutton. Burial will follow at Arrowood-Dutton Cemetery, Wayne, WV. He was born January 20, 1925 in Naugatuck, WV, a son of the late Harvey and Elander Hensley Davis. Jessie was a retired purchasing agent for General Motors. He joined the United Baptist family in January of 2006 and was a member of the Little Friendship Church in Boones Camp, KY. Also preceding him in death was his beloved wife whom he married December 6, 1947, Clara (Dutton) Davis; along with two sisters, Irene (Clyde) Blair and Maxidine Adkins (Bill Taylor). Although Jessie and Clara did not have children of their own, they played a role in raising two nephews, Earnest Oval Stanaford and Michael Lee Stanaford. They also enjoyed the privilege of being Mamaw and Papaw to Michelle Ann Stanaford (Ring) and Christina Marie Stanaford. They were blessed at the age of 69 to open their hearts and home to Mariah Marie (Stanaford) Trickey. She was the little girl they had always wanted. Survivors include a sister, Delcie (Davis) Elkins of Kenova, WV and a host of nieces and nephews. Jessie loved the Lord and was ready to serve the church family in any way needed. He loved his nieces and nephews and always enjoyed when they came to visit. He will be missed by the family and has left us with many good memories. Our loss is Heaven’s gain.
