Marvin Antl, age 91, of Elysian, died Sunday, January 6, 2002, at his residence in Elysian.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow, January 10, 2002 at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville with Rev. Erwin Meitz officiating.
Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Elysian.
Visitation will be held at the Prosch-Dennis Funeral Home in Waterville today, from 4-8 p.m. and continue tomorrow for one hour before services at the church.
Marvin, the son of Rudolph and Florence (Shave) Antl, was born September 10, 1910 in Elysian Township, Le Sueur County. He attended rural Le Sueur County School District #74. He married Lola Evelyn Olson on June 15, 1940 at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland. He was a farmer most of his life and worked as a mechanic for Emil Pfalzgraph in Elysian for a few years. In 1948 he and his wife moved to a farm in Alliance, Neb. They moved back to Elysian in the spring of 1950 when he purchased the home farm. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and baseball. He was treasurer of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Elysian and later served on the finance board at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville where he currently was a member. He was also a 4-H club leader, treasurer of the Elysian Town Board and served on the cemetery board in Elysian.
He is survived by his wife, Lola, of Elysian, one daughter, Marlys Boyum, and her husband, Roger, of Elysian; two grandchildren, Kevin Boyum, and his wife, Beth, of Roseville, Cal. And Sally Miller, and her husband, William "Bill" of Jacksonville, Fla. and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Gladys Jewison of Janesville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Inez Adams and Amy Floyd.
