James “Jay” Claude Thibodeaux
Jennings: James Thibodeaux was born in Mermentau Cove, LA on August 9, 1931 to Arthur Thibodeaux and Eleanor Duhon Thibodeaux. He was called to his Heavenly Father on May 14, 2016. James entered the United States Airforce, after graduating from high school. Upon completing his time in the Airforce, he became employed with Texaco. It was during this time of his life that he met the love of his life, Beulah Abshire. James and Beulah decided to lay their roots down in Mermentau, LA where he became involved in the rice farming industry. In his spare time, James loved to garden and also had a passion for wood working. James also enjoyed spending his time with his loving and devoted dog, Bootsie. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
James is survived by his brother, Robert Arthur (Brenda Hanks) Thibodeaux of Mermentau, LA; his sisters, Polly Anne (John) Hodges of Metairie, LA, Gertie (Rudy) Soileau of Slidell, LA, Jeanne (John) Di Stefano of Alexandria, LA and Kate (Raymond) Bangle of Mermentau, LA; numerous nieces and nephews; and his cherished dog, Bootsie.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Eleanor Thibodeaux; beloved wife, Beulah Abshire Thibodeaux; brother, Gerald Thibodeaux; and sister-in-law, Theresa Broussard.
A memorial service for James “Jay” Claude Thibodeaux, 84 of Mermentau, LA will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings, LA on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Charles McMillin officiating. A gathering of family and friends be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings beginning on May 18th from 8:30 AM until his time of service. James will be laid to rest in Duhon Cemetery with Full Military Rites.
